Auckland airport plans to request proposals for foreign exchange and financial services by the end of the year

Auckland International Airport Limited (AIAL) intends to seek proposals for foreign exchange and financial services by December for a contract that will begin in October 2007. The current term of AIAL's contract with the Bank of New Zealand (BNZ), which has held the airport's foreign exchange and financial services concession since 1989, will expire in a year.

AIAL retail general manager Nick Forbes said the contract winner would supply foreign exchange and financial services for over 11m passengers who use the AIAL each year. He said: "This is an exciting opportunity for Auckland airport and the successful financial services organisation is to extend the range of foreign exchange and financial services available to passengers. BNZ will participate in the process."
