Assa takes top post at Lauder Americas

Estée Lauder has appointed Javier Simon as general manager for Estée Lauder Switzerland and vice-president marketing travel retailing worldwide Israel Assa will be his successor

Estee Lauder vice-president and general manager travel retailing Americas Javier Simon has been appointed as general manager for Estée Lauder Switzerland. Israel Assa, vice-president marketing, travel retailing worldwide for Bobbi Brown, Origins, La Mer, Jo Malone, Stila, Rodan + Fields, Darphin, Aramis and Designer Fragrances, will succeed Simon on July 1.

Assa joined The Estée Lauder Companies Travel Retailing Division in 2001 as director of marketing for Bobbi Brown and Origins. Following several brand additions to his portfolio and two promotions he was appointed vice-president marketing, travel retailing worldwide.

Senior vice-president general manager travel retailing worldwide Olivier Bottrie said: "Israel's in-depth understanding of the travel-retail business in the Americas, together with his keen business knowledge and leadership skills, make him the perfect candidate to manage our business in this region."
