Arrivals stores complete phase one of Beirut expansion
Phase one of the ambitious expansion by Phoenicia-Aer Rianta (PAC) at Beirut International airport is complete with the opening of two new arrivals duty-free shops which cover 440sq m (4,734sq ft) in total
Beirut Duty Free general manager Gerry Crawford said: "The feedback from passengers and suppliers has been tremendous and consequently the sales development impressive. Penetration levels and average spends are running at an all time high and constantly increasing."
The new outlets are strategically placed in the passenger flow to maximize penetration and the interior of the shops designed to attract and minimize transaction ensuring no processing delays. Merchandising space has been increased to facilitate an increase in brands and categories represented. Each outlet features a walk-in humidor, and also offers a strong range of beauty products, emerging categories such as electronics and photographic items. Liquor, tobacco and confectionery are also on offer.
The development will eventually cover arrivals, departures and duty-paid landside outlets.
