Argentinian flag carrier Aerolineas Argentinas has announced a 32% increase in passengers for November

In encouraging news for the Latin American travel-retail industry, Argentinian flag carrier Aerolineas Argentinas has announced record passenger traffic figures for November. More than 503,000 passengers flew with the airline last month; an increase of 32% on November 2002. More than 365,000 (up 33%) used the carrier for domestic flights within Argentina, and almost 138,000 (up 29%) boarded international flights. This increase, driven by strong tourism growth and a recovering economy, will hearten Buenos Aires Ezeiza airport duty-free concessionaire InterBaires.

Aerolineas Argentinas has also announced plans to introduce a twice-weekly service to Peking next May.
