The company expect sales of more than $550m over the 10-year contract period

US food, beverage and retail services provider Areas USA has been awarded the concession for 30 retail outlets at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International airport. The concessions, located in concourses B, C and D, are expected to generate more than $550m over the 10-year contract period.

Under the terms of the agreement Areas USA will feature locally recognised brands including Blackberry, Calvin Klein, Elizabeth Arden, Reebok, Rossetta Stone and Midtown Magazines. Other well-known local brands such as Mori Luggage and Gifts—which has been operating in Atlanta since 1971—and Atlanta coffee house Café Intermezzo will also be featured. The establishments at Atlanta will follow the opening of others at Miami, Orlando and Indianapolis International airports and Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County airport.

Areas USA CEO Xavier Rabell said: “We are very excited to have retail operations in Atlanta airport. It is one of Areas’ most important contracts to date. Areas USA is a perfect fit for Atlanta because of our familiarity in dealing with a wide array of customers from around the world and is well suited to serve the increasing number of domestic and international passengers the airport welcomes on a daily basis.”
