Apple launches iPod Mini player

North American computer and electronics supplier Apple has introduced a smaller version of its best-selling iPod.

The 4GB iPod Mini weighs 3.6oz (100g) and holds 1,000 songs.

The MP3 player, which has a battery life of about eight hours, will be priced $249 in domestic markets.
