Airports of Thailand’s chairman says that acting president is to stay in her position for the rest of the month

A flurry of reports in the Thai press had suggested that King Power International Group (Thailand) has at least some support within Airports of Thailand, despite recent reports that it has been asked to vacate its shops at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi airport. Airports of Thailand acting president Kulya Pakakrong has tendered her resignation to the board in protest over the decision to terminate King Power’s duty-free contract there, according to the Bangkok Post and The Nation.

Reports cited unnamed sources as saying that Pakakrong resigned on August 30, but following a board meeting today, AoT chairman Saprang Kalayanamitra said Pakakrong is to stay in her position until the end of September, according to Dow Jones International News.
