Schiphol Group reports steady traffic growth at Amsterdam airport despite a fall in leisure traffic

Amsterdam Schiphol airport welcomed 4.2m passengers in May 2006, 2.9% more than in the same month last year.

Airport manager Schiphol Group claimed that growth was driven by Air France-KLM and its partners, low-cost carriers and European airlines. However, the airport operator blamed a fall in leisure traffic on Turkey's recent decline in popularity as a holiday destination.
