Americas duty-free debut for Brugal 1888
The Brugal 1888 rum will be launched in the regionís travel-retail channel at the Duty Free Show of the Americas in Orlando
Liquor supplier The Edrington Group and distributor Rémy Cointreau Travel Retail Americas will launch the Brugal 1888 rum in Americas duty-free at the International Association of Airport Duty Free Shops show next month in Orlando. The product is already available domestically in the region and will now be rolled out to airports in North, Central and South America.
Brugal 1888 is aged to maturity in toasted American white oak casks. The mature rum is then transferred and allowed to mellow in first-fill Spanish Sherry oak casks, creating a product that has a dry and complex style, according to the supplier.
Last year the company strengthened the Brugal brand in the Americas by launching travel-retail exclusives Brugal Extra Viejo Reserva and Brugal Añejo Reserva, followed by activations at key airports including New York John F Kennedy, Newark International, Miami International, Houston George Bush Intercontinental and other duty-free outlets across the region.
