Organisers claim the fifth edition of the event will be the biggest yet

The fifth Middle East Exclusive (MEE) exhibition will be the biggest yet, bringing together more than 120 global travel-retail and luxury goods companies, according to organisers Channels Exhibitions. Taking place between December 4 and 6 at Dubai World Trade Center, the event will showcase over 500 brands and products, including new launches.

Channels Exhibitions managing director Justin Boutros said: “The Middle East Exclusive Exhibition is the right platform to serve the hugely dynamic region and the burgeoning luxury goods market and we are delighted with the response received so far. The exhibition will bring together international and regional representatives of the duty-free, travel-retail and luxury goods industry and will give a unique opportunity to meet potential key partners.”

The company also mentioned figures from Swedish research group Generation DataBank that claim the Greater Middle East market, which includes Africa and former CIS states, will see an average annual growth of 12.2% over the next five years in duty-free and travel-retail sales, significantly higher than the global average of 7.6%. The overall growth is forecast to reach 59% by 2011 compared to 2007.
