Alpha Inflight Retail is planning to hand responsibility for Air Canada's onboard retail programme to Inflight Sales Group (ISG), TRW understands. The move, which is still being finalised, foresees management of the Air Canada operation passing to ISG's US office.

Last year, the two companies announced an alliance and Alpha took a minority stake in ISG. Under the agreement, Alpha was to focus on the combined group's European, Indian sub-continent and Middle East operations, and ISG would focus on those in the Americas and Asia.

Alpha began the contract for Air Canada in January 1999.
