Alpha Airports Group plans to add two retail concepts at Scotland's Inverness airport as part of its refurbishment strategy
Alpha Airports Group is to double the size of the shopping area at Scotland's Inverness airport as part of a £350,000 (£637,000) refurbishment programme.
The strategy will create two new retail outlets: World News, selling books, newspapers, magazines and confectionery, and souvenir retailer Scottish Presence. The revamp includes the refurbishment of the hot food outlets and the retailer has added a new Deli Sandwich Bar.
Alpha Retail Catering managing director Jerry Robinson said: "Alpha's aim is to provide passengers with a contemporary, modern environment, which caters to all needs and is equal in quality and choice to any high street brand. We see ourselves as leaders and innovators within our industry – as such, continuing to refresh our brands and revitalise our catering and shopping areas is crucial."
He added: "Alpha has an excellent longstanding relationship with Inverness airport, built up through the years of working closely with them. Our reinvestment into Inverness reflects our ongoing commitment to both the airport and the region as a whole."
Inverness Airport's Geoff Begg said:"Inverness is one of the UK's fastest growing regional airports and the current refurbishment programme will enable us to cater to our rapidly expanding customer base. We wholeheartedly welcome Alpha's continued investment and look forward to developing our relationship with them in future."
