Alpha expands Heroes scheme
The group has received more nominations than ever after extending the initiative beyond retail to its entire UK, Ireland and Jersey business
Alpha Airports Group's employee award scheme Alpha Heroes 2005 has received record number of nominations after expanding the initiative beyond its retail business. Alpha group communications director Avril Appleyard said that judging had been more difficult than ever after the scheme was opened to employees across the group's entire UK, Ireland and Jersey business.
A team of independent judges selected 300 finalists from almost 3,000 nominations during a three-day judging session, during which the panel also selected the winners of each of the 24 award categories. Finalists will be invited to an awards dinner on April 4 at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham, where the winners will be announced.
A date has also been set for Alpha Asia Heroes, which was launched to Alpha Orient Lanka in Sri Lanka and the Maldives at the end of last year. The awards dinner will take place on April 22 in Columbo. The group reported that it received more than 800 nominations and will be holding interviews with nominators over the coming weeks. The final shortlist will be announced on March 7.
