The airports group announces the appointment of Martin Flower as chairman

Alpha Airports Group has announced the appointment of Martin Flower to the role of chairman, effective December 11. Flower will take on the job from CEO Peter Williams, who has held the position in a temporary capacity since former chairman left the group in July.

Flower is currently chairman of chemicals group Croda International and non-executive director of specialist materials engineering company The Morgan Crucible Company, the specialist materials engineering company. He served for 36 years in a variety of UK and international roles at textiles business Coats where he was appointed CEO in 2001 and chairman in 2003 before leaving the company in 2004.

Williams said: “We are delighted that Martin is to become chairman of Alpha. He has a first-class track record and extensive experience both at board level and internationally. He will be of enormous benefit as we take the business forwards.”

Flower added: “I am looking forward to joining the board. Alpha has exciting prospects. It is a leader in its field and is well placed to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the fast-evolving environment in which it operates.”
