Alpha and DFNI team up on India event
As interest in the sub-continental duty-free market surges, DFNI is delighted to announce its participation in the India Duty Free Workshop
The India Duty Free Workshop will be held at Le Meridien hotel in the southern Indian town of Cochin on February 21-23 2006. The event, hosted by Alpha Orient Lanka, will feature presentations from some of the leading companies in Indian duty-free, including Cochin International Airport Ltd, Diageo and Kraft. The Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association has confirmed its support, while top Indian government officials have also pledged to attend. DFNI will be the official media partner for the event.
The event will begin with a cocktail reception on February 21, before a full day of presentations and a gala dinner on February 22. Following the morning session on February 23 delegates will be offered a choice of tour options.
Alpha Orient Lanka managing director Paul Topping said: "Passenger growth in India represents the best opportunity in travel-retail. As the stakeholders are the government, airlines, airports and retailers, this workshop is timely and will bring all parties together."
DFNI editor John Rimmer said: "The imminent launch of our DFNI Asia newsletter shows our continuing commitment to Asia/Pacific, and there are few more exciting markets within that region than India. We are delighted to be the official media partner for this event and excited to be part of what will be a vibrant and fascinating exchange of ideas."
