Alpha Orient Lanka launches hunt for Heroes

The company has officially started its search for outstanding staff, who will be recognized at the Alpha Asia Heroes gala ceremony next March

Alpha Orient Lanka has launched its Alpha Asia Heroes 2008 scheme over three days at the Ceylon Continental and Tamarind Tree hotels in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The scheme, a localized version of the Alpha Heroes scheme operated by Alpha Retail in the UK, aims to recognise staff members across the Sri Lankan business who have shown consistently outstanding performance.

Over 35 brand-owning firms sponsored the 2007 awards, and the company reported that most have shown keen interest in supporting next year’s final event, which will be held on the March 8 2008 at the Cinnamon Grand hotel.

Alpha Orient Lanka employs close to 400 staff and received 1299 nominations in last year’s Heroes scheme, 13 individual and team awards will be presented to over 50 winners, with cash prizes totaling US$50,000.

Alpha Asia managing director Paul Topping said: “I am very proud of my staff in Sri Lanka. The passion, energy and enthusiasm they display are unparalleled. Every one is a hero to me.”
