The two companies teamed up earlier this month to run the two-day outward bounds training event, Go Johnnie Go, in Sri Lanka
Over 400 Alpha Orient Lanka (AOL) staff attended the Go Johnnie Go two-day Diageo adventure sports training project at the Tamarind Tree Hotel in Sri Lanka this month. The training initiative was designed to increase staff motivation, encourage employees to have fun and ultimately drive sales.
Staff were divided into eight teams and competed in brand-related games over four half-day sessions to win points to become the Go Johnnie Go champion team. The event was coordinated by outward bounds company The Sales and Marketing Training Forum.
The winning team Moonstone won the opportunity to take part in activities such as river rafting, rock climbing or abseiling at a later date.
Alpha Asia marketing manager Chethika Hapugalle said: The goal of Go Johnnie Go was to offer more opportunities for our employees to maximise their potential and AOL has every confidence it has achieved this with Diageos invaluable support.
Diageos training schedule this year has included tastings, key skills and competencies development and monthly competitions with cash incentives designed to boost staff motivation.
