Allied makes key Americas appointments
Allied Domecq Duty Free (ADDF) has made key personnel changes to its operation in the Americas region. Former president of UDV Americas Global Duty Free Mike Holden is to become vice-president of ADDF Americas, and also assumes the presidency of Allied's US-based subsidiary Alexander Dun.
Holden, a well-known figure in the duty-free liquor industry, joins
ADDF from US operator Fairn & Swanson, where he was chief
executive. He begins his new role on January 15 and will report to
ADDF president Charles Richardson.
ADDF hopes the appointment will give a timely boost to Alexander
Dun, a company that has had to deal with a number of personnel
changes over the past year. Most significant was the departure of
Alexander Dun executives John Alexander and Ned Carpenter to form
duty-free distributor Alexander James early last year.
In further changes at ADDF Americas, regional manager for Latin
America Bill Martin has retired. His replacement has been named as
Paulo Puig, who will be responsible for all duty-free markets in
South America. Richardson commented: "These are major changes for
ADDF in the Americas and follow on from major changes made at
Alexander Dun."
