Air Deccan joins India Workshop line up
The Indian low-cost carrier is one of several key companies presenting at the first event dedicated to travel-retail opportunities in one of the world's most exciting emerging markets
Indian budget airline Air Deccan managing director GR Gopinath has confirmed that he will address next month's India Duty Free Workshop, to be held at Le Meridien hotel in Cochin on February 21-23. Gopinath will present his views on the opportunities and challenges afforded by the rapidly developing Indian aviation market, and joins representatives from companies including Alpha Asia, India Tourism Development Corp and Flemingo International in the line-up of speakers.
Among the latest companies to confirm their attendance at the Workshop are Hugo Boss, Heineken and Masterfoods International Travel Retail. Delegates will enjoy two days of debate on a variety of topics related to duty-free and airport development in the fast-growing Indian market, including the impact of low-cost travel, airport privatisation, inflight retail and effective brand marketing.
Several of Asian duty-free's biggest suppliers have agreed to support the event, with main sponsors including Diageo, Brown-Forman, Nestlé International Travel Retail, Albert Bichot, Channel Exhibitions and William Grant & Sons. The event is also being supported by the Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association, while DFNI Asia sister publication Duty-Free News International is the official media partner.
