Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 traffic up over 16% in 2004

The continuing economic recovery in Argentina is reflected in 2004 traffic figures posted by the country's leading airport operator

Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 has announced a 14% increase in international traffic, to 558,673 passengers, throughout its network for December. The number of international passenger for the full year rose to 6.19m passengers, up 16.1% on 2003.

International traffic at Buenos Aires Ezeiza airport, Argentina's principal gateway for business and leisure traffic, grew 14.4% for the month to just over 475,424 passengers. More than 5.28m passengers used Ezeiza in 2004, up by 14.8% on the previous year. International traffic also grew strongly last year at Aeroparque, up by 17.7% to over 554,000 passengers and at Cordoba, where traffic grew by 66.2% to 180,731.

Domestic traffic throughout the network continued to rise, increasing by 6.8 % to 776,793 for the month. Domestic traffic through the year rose 12.4% to 8.77m passengers.
