The airport authority is to take an equal stake in its Societe de Distribution Aeroportuaire joint venture with Aelia
French airport authority Aéroports de Paris has announced that it will increase its stake in its Société de Distribution Aéroportuaire partnership with Aelia from 49% to 50% on January 1 2007.The joint venture, founded in 2003, already operates liquor, tobacco and beauty outlets at Paris Charles de Gaulle terminals one and two, and will shortly introduce more outlets across all Paris terminals, including at Orly airport. It recorded turnover of 196.9m ($249.2m) in 2005.
Meanwhile Aéroports de Paris has reported a 7.1% increase in revenue in its passenger services business for the first half of 2006, to 172.9m ($218.9m), driven by "strong growth of retail activities in duty-free areas" as well as a new car parking pricing policy. Total revenue for the group reached 988.6m ($1.25bn), up 7.3% on the previous corresponding period, while net profit grew 4.9% to 91.5m ($115.8m).
