Rome airports company Aeroporti di Roma (ADR) has announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with the two members of the Pantares initiative, Frankfurt and Amsterdam Schiphol airports. Pantares, announced in TRW in November is the world's first strategic airport alliance intended to coordinate airport operations and maximise efficiency.

ADR said in a statement that, together with Frankfurt and Amsterdam, it hopes that SEA (Societa Esercizi Aeroportuali) the operator of Milan Malpensa and Linate airports will also join the grouping.

Under the accord, the companies will set up working groups to analyse the possibility of creating joint companies to handle some airport activities including retail, ground handling, e-commerce and information technology.
