After securing its position at Bahrain International airport for a further 25 years Bahrain Duty Free has renewed its management contract with ARI-ME

The board of directors of Bahrain Duty Free has awarded Aer Rianta International-Middle East (ARI-ME) a seven-year extension to its management contract at the location, ensuring the Irish operator's presence there until the end of 2010. The deal lends added stability to one of the Middle East's crucial airports, where Bahrain Duty Free itself was recently granted a 25-year extension to its concession contract.

ARI-ME managing director John Sutcliffe said: "I am really delighted. We now have long-term contracts in Bahrain, Beirut and Muscat, and together with our other activities, this will create a solid foundation for the growth and expansion of our business in the region."

Bahrain Duty Free chairman Farouk Al Moayyed thanked ARI-ME for its contribution to the operator's growth and for helping ensure that Bahrain has become of "the elite retail outlets in the travel-retail industry".
