Aer Lingus suspends inflight duty-free

21-Jan-2003

Irish carrier Aer Lingus has suspended onboard duty-free sales while it finalises negotiations over a new pay-bar system that will allow economy passengers a wider choice of food and beverage

The service was stopped on Monday January 13, and Aer Lingus manager inflight sales Maria McConnell told TRW that she expected normal service to continue shortly.

Aer Lingus, which recently abolished duty-free sales on intra-EU routes, made duty-free sales of $11.4m in 2001.
