Aéroports de Paris opts for its own joint venture with Aelia over Alpha Retail in the Paris Charles de Gaulle terminal one liquor, tobacco and beauty tender
Société Distribution Aéroportuaire (SDA), the joint venture formed by Aelia and Aéroports de Paris (AdP) in 2003, has won the tender to operate liquor, tobacco and beauty retail at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport's renovated terminal one. SDA will operate a 285sq m (3,065sq ft) liquor and tobacco store plus a 256sq m (2,755sq ft) beauty outlet in T1 airside, plus seven last-minute stores offering all three categories in the terminal's satellites. Alpha Retail was the other shortlisted bidder in the tender.Aelia vice-president organisation and development Ambroise Fondeur told DFNI: "We are extremely pleased with this result as it will help to strengthen SDA and allow us a platform on which to build the business."
The retail area in T1 is scheduled to be completed in autumn 2006 and the terminal will be fully operational in 2008.
