Aelia to open new store at Nice

7-Sep-2004

The operator responds to security changes with plans to unveil an enlarged store at the airport on France's south coast

French retailer Aelia plans to open a 300sq m (3,228sq ft) store at France's Nice Côte d'Azur International airport by December. The new site will replace two shops in the international and Schengen terminals, which total approximately 200sq m (2,152sq ft), and will encompass the space previously occupied by the confectionery store.

The move has been triggered by plans to revamp the security area at the airport and will allow Aelia to allocate more space to liquor and tobacco products while giving the retailer additional room for promotions and merchandising across its other categories, including fragrances and cosmetics.
