Airport authority Aéroports de Paris (AdP) has concluded the third phase of renovation work at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport terminal one, which took 10 months to complete. The €37m ($58.7m) investment includes 180sq m (1,937sq ft) of new retail outlets offering fragrances, tobacco, liquor and convenience products.
The refurbished area has been designed to provide bigger, brighter and more comfortable space for customers and includes a new restaurant called La Terrasse on the top floor. Signage has also been updated to be in line with that of the other terminals at the airport.
The fourth and final phase of work is scheduled to start at the end of April and due for completion in early 2009. Total costs for the renovation of T1, which will increase the terminal’s capacity from 8.1m to 10.8m passengers a year, are expected to reach about €252m ($400m).
