Abu Dhabi issues tender for gold, jewellery and fashion outlets

Abu Dhabi Duty Free has released a request for proposals (RFP) for gold, jewellery and fashion outlets at Abu Dhabi International airport.

Abu Dhabi Duty Free has released a request for proposals (RFP) for gold, jewellery and fashion outlets in terminals one and three of Abu Dhabi International airport. The tender represents two of the seven retail categories soon to be available at the terminals.

The RFP in the gold and jewellery category was issued on June 3 and the official closing date has been set for July 15 2007 at 4pm. Invited bids will come from Joy Alukkas, Pure Gold, ARY Jewellery, Damas, Panda Diamonds and Al Ain Jewellery.

The fashion, fashion-jewellery and sunglasses category RFP, issued on June 4, will close on July 29. Bidders include DFS Group, Nuance-Watson, McArthurGlen, Al Tayer Group, King Power Group, Habchi & Chalhoub and the Valiram Group.

Abu Dhabi Airports Co commercial director Mohamed Mounib said: “Abu Dhabi Duty Free is pleased to have already received strong and widespread interest from both international and local retailers keen to operate in our highly successful travel-retail environment.”

An official announcement on the dates for the other RFPs across the other categories is set to be made shortly.
