Final plans for the redevelopment of Abu Dhabi airport terminal one were presented for approval on Wednesday (November 26)

A final presentation on plans to redevelop Abu Dhabi airport terminal one was made on November 26 to Abu Dhabi Airports Co (ADAC) chairman Khalifa Al Mazrouei. The presentation included plans for the redesign and complete refurbishment of retail operations at the airport. The dramatic scheme to upgrade the old terminal as T3 is completed will consolidate all of the retail offer on the lower level and all food and beverage outlets on the upper level of the terminal.

Speaking to delegates on the second and final day of the Middle East Duty Free Association conference in Abu Dhabi earlier this week, ADAC commercial director Dan Cappell said that the plans presented the airport with one of its biggest challenges.

Last month ADAC opened the airport’s second runway for arrivals and departures, following the completion of the main construction work in early September and certification by the General Civil Aviation Authority.
