Mexican airport operator Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (ASUR) has reported a 78.5% year-on-year increase in its duty-free revenues to September 30

The operator operates concessions in Cancun, Merida, Cozumel, Villahermosa, Oaxaca, Veracruz, Huatulco, Tapachula and Minatitlan. Total commercial revenues have increased by 93.9%.

The airports group said the results were boosted by the opening of four retail outlets at Cancun in the early part of this year. Meanwhile a decision is expected in January 2005 in an arbitration case between ASUR and Dufry Mexico. ASUR has been in dispute with the retailer over alleged unpaid rents at Dufry's Cancun concession.
