The Irish group is in a promising position after the airport authority opened bids—or bid—on Wednesday

Aer Rianta International (ARI) has emerged as the sole bidder for the master retail concession at Belgrade International airport.

A spokesman from airport authority Aerodrom Beograd commented: "The tender commission will decide whether ARI will be offered a contract as the retail concessionaire by the end of the month."

As reported in DFNI September 15, ARI was the favourite to win the contract after several international operators, including Gebr Heinemann, Dufry Group, Alpha Retail and Aelia, declined to bid. Aerodrom Beograd currently runs duty-free at the location.
