Aer Rianta International makes changes to its North American team as it prepares for the next phase of expansion at Montreal Pierre Trudeau airport
Aer Rianta International has reshuffled its North American team "in order to meet the challenges presented to its operations". Jacques Dagenais has assumed responsibility for the retailer's business at Pierre Trudeau airport in Montreal, where the company opened a 1,250sq m (13,450sq ft) Runway Duty Free store last June, said to be the biggest airport duty-free store in Canada. Aer Rianta International-North America's (ARI-NA) management is to be based at the new airport, which replaced the Mirabel facility last year. A new store for US transborder traffic will be added next year.ARI-NA operations director Philip Eckles' role in the region will now include all the retailer's business in the Americas and Caribbean, where it is set to move into new stores at Barbados Grantley Adams airport following its victory in a tender held last year (DFNI November 15 2005). Eckles will continue to report to regional general manager retail Bill Maxwell.
