Runway Duty Free liquor and tobacco store unveiled at Grantley Adams International airport

Caribbean ARI, a joint venture between Aer Rianta International and Caribbean Airways, has opened the first of five stores at Grantley Adams International airport (GAIA). The 1,739sq ft (18,718sq m) liquor and tobacco shop, which will operate under the Runway Duty Free fascia, is ARI’s first in the Caribbean.

ACI regional general manager Philip Eckles said the new store set "a new standard for duty-free retailing in the Caribbean. He said: "We are delighted to have opened our first store in the Caribbean.  Delivering this store in what is a completely new region for ARI has required a huge team effort."

The store occupies space that was originally tendered as separate liquor and tobacco and confectionery outlets. The remaining stores–Runway Beauty, Runway Voyager, Runway Fashion and the arrivals store Runway Beach Hut–are due to open over the next two weeks.
