ARI joint venture secures vital Oman contract

12-Nov-2002

Aer Rianta International-Middle East, in partnership with Oman Aviation Services, has won the contract to operate the duty-free stores at Seeb International airport

The contract begins early next year and includes arrivals and departures stores. The contract is for nine-and-a-half years.

The joint venture beat off competition from a number of leading international operators, including Weitnauer and an Alpha Retail/Oman Duty Free partnership, for the contract.

The deal concludes a successful couple of weeks for ARI. The company is about to sign a contract to operate Gulf Air's inflight duty-free programme. And it has also won a separate contract to operate the duty-free stores at Bahrain's seaports. Both of these contracts will be administered through Bahrain Duty Free.
