John Woodhouse will replace Dermot Ryan at the retailer's Shannon office

Aer Rianta International (ARI) has appointed John Woodhouse as business development and marketing manager. He replaces Dermot Ryan, who is leaving the retailer to take up a post at Barclays Bank in Dublin.

Woodhouse joins ARI from Worldspan, a provider of sales software and hosting services to the travel industry. He has previously worked for Aer Rianta as well as Avis Europe and Go Airlines.

ARI director general Eamon Foley said: "Since joining ARI Dermot has enhanced our approach to business development through a number of key initiatives and we wish him every success in his new role.  John is a welcome addition to the management team.  His background in travel and aviation, coupled with previous experience working for Aer Rianta, will help him in this challenging position."
