The DFNI Charity Ball fundraising drive gets a boost of almost $30,000 from Aer Rianta International-Middle East and its chairman Abdulla Buhindi
Aer Rianta International-Middle East has brought DFNI’s goal of providing a state-of-the-art heart mapping machine for Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children in Crumlin a step closer with a series of extraordinary pledges to this month’s Charity Ball. The company has made a cash donation of $10,000 and donated a Rolex ladies’ watch worth more than €4,500 ($6,515), which DFNI hopes will raise considerably more than its face value as one of the star attractions of a charity auction to be held during the DFNI Charity Ball later this month.
In addition to the company’s already generous gift, ARI-ME chairman Abdulla Buhindi—who, along with ARI-ME managing director John Sutcliffe, will attend the Ball on February 29 at the Renaissance Chancery Court Hotel in London—has personally pledged to donate an additional $10,000 to the campaign fund.
ARI-ME’s and Buhindi’s pledges are in addition to the $5,900 pledged by parent company ARI, and the latest of several high-value donations and auction prizes offered by the ever-generous travel-retail industry.
Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children in Crumlin is a world centre for the care of sick children and research into children’s illnesses, yet relies almost entirely on charitable donations. The organisation was recommended to DFNI by a popular member of the travel-retail industry who knows first-hand of the hospital’s good work.
Tickets for the ball are available at £190+VAT, and DFNI is still seeking more high-value auction items to raise more money for this fantastic cause. To book your seats or table, or to donate cash or auction prizes, please contact DFNI events manager Gerrard Kennedy on gerrard.kennedy@metropolis.co.uk or tel: +44 208 253 8607.
