The second India Duty Free Workshop will be held in Delhi in September and promises to be an informative meeting on the booming duty-free market

The Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association (APTRA) has lined up more than 30 high-profile speakers for the second India Duty Free Workshop, to take place at the Radisson Hotel in New Delhi on September 18-20. Government officials, the Indian tourist board and representatives from Indian airlines are among those to have been invited to speak at the event, themed Incredible India, which will be moderated by APTRA board members and trade press “personalities”.

APTRA president Sunil Tuli reported that the Tax Free World Association and key retailers and suppliers have already pledged their support for the event, which follows last year’s successful inaugural workshop, organised by Alpha Asia.

Tuli said: “We have all been expecting the rapid rise and change for many years, but it is the speed at which the travel-retail and duty-free environment is moving that has taken many by surprise. This growth will be exponential and unforgiving, and industry partners with India in their sights will reap the rewards.”
