The Spanish airport authority is seeking guidance on renovating the commercial areas of Madrid Barajas terminals one, two and three

Spanish airport authority AENA has issued a public tender calling for technical assistance to help plan, design and renovate the commercial offer in the arrivals and departures areas of Madrid Barajas terminals one, two and three. Earlier this year AENA announced plans to invest €51m ($64.6m) to renovate the three older terminals at Madrid, following the opening of T4 and its satellite back in February.

AENA is looking for advice on alternative commercial layouts for the retail and catering offer at the three terminals, and said that the plans should take account of revised traffic numbers and passenger flows following Iberia Airlines and One World Alliance's relocation to T4.

The tender was published late last week and AENA has requested submissions from interested parties by October 13.

Renovation work at T1, T2 and T3 will start in December and is scheduled for completion before the peak season of 2007.
