The opening of Madrid airport's new terminal has been postponed by one week
Sources at Spanish airport authority AENA have confirmed that the official opening of Madrid Barajas' new terminal 4 and its satellite building will be postponed by one week. The new date for the inauguration of the €6.2bn ($7.6bn) terminal is February 4.The new facility will house 60% of the existing traffic at the airport and will allow AENA to increase capacity from 35m passengers to over 70m.
Aldeasa was appointed anchor retailer in the new terminal in November 2003 and the Madrid-based operator will launch a series of new commercial concepts at the location, investing nearly €20m ($24.4m).
Leading Spanish high street retailers will also be present in the new T4, including Zara, Mango and Imaginarium.
