Manfred Schölch has been unanimously re-elected as president of the European airports body

ACI Europe president Manfred Schölch was unanimously re-elected for a further term after the European airports body held its annual assembly in Athens last week. Schölch's new term as president will end in June 2007.

Schölch has been vice-chairman of Fraport's executive board since 1989, having joined the German company in 1971. He oversees Fraport's expansion programme in addition to its aviation and legal departments.

After his re-election Schölch spoke of the urgent need to increase capacity across Europe's airports, insisting that the shortfall in capacity had reached "alarming levels".
